Rabat, Friday, October 3 – The capital city hosted the graduation ceremony of the first cohort of the Video Game Creator training program, in the presence of the Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication, Mr. Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, and the Ambassador of the French Republic to Morocco, alongside academic and institutional partners: the International University of Rabat (UIR), ISART Digital School, and the FISMAC Foundation.
This milestone crowns a full year of intensive training that benefited forty young participants from across the Kingdom, with women representing 35% of the class. Their final projects showcased a remarkable level of creativity inspired by Moroccan culture, while meeting international standards in the video game industry.
Thanks to this ministry-funded program, the graduates are now equipped to contribute to the growth of existing Moroccan studios or to launch new start-ups. They are also well positioned to enrich other innovation-driven sectors such as healthcare, education, and cultural heritage preservation.
In line with the implementation of the intergovernmental declaration of intent signed between the Kingdom of Morocco and the French Republic—under the patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI May God Assist Him and President Emmanuel Macron—focused on supporting and structuring Morocco’s video game ecosystem, the ISART Talents Morocco Day was successfully held on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at the International University of Rabat (UIR).
This day was a major highlight of the “Video Game Creator” training program, shining a spotlight on forty talented young Moroccan graduates who proudly presented their final projects. The video games developed through this initiative represent a crucial step in their professional integration and signal the vibrant emergence of a new generation of Moroccan creators. Five of these groundbreaking projects will soon be available online via isartmaroc.itch.io, with trailers accessible on YouTube, and a presentation booklet available through a QR Code.
It should be recalled that the ISART Talents Morocco Day—championed by Moroccan and French partners, including the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication – Departement of Communication, the French Embassy in Morocco, ISART Digital, the International University of Rabat (UIR), and FISMAC is part of a broader momentum launched in January 2025 with the official inauguration of the “Video Game Creator” training. This initiative progressed through the collaborative Arcade project and saw the notable participation of young Moroccan talents in the second edition of the Morocco Gaming Expo, before concluding with the final project presentations during this capstone event.
Rabat hosted a week-long training program in video game ibdustry at the Yaacoub El Mansour Youth Center. The sessions were led by Créajeux Institute, one of France’s leading institutions in gaming education.
This program was organized in partnership between the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication and the French Institute in Morocco.
As part of the second edition of the Morocco Gaming Expo 2025, held from July 2 to 6, several students benefiting from the Video Game Creator program showcased the projects they developed during their training. Over the course of five days, visitors interacted with these creations displayed in the Incubator Zone at the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication’s pavilion – a great opportunity to discover innovative ideas reflecting the passion and talent of a new generation of video game developers in Morocco.
On Tuesday, May 13, 2025, Mr. Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, Minister of Youth, Culture, and Communication, and Mrs. Loubna El Arisha, Director General of the Office of Vocational Training and Employment Promotion, signed a framework agreement to keep pace with the dynamic developments in Morocco’s gaming industry. The agreement aims to promote training and enhance professional skills among young people interested in this promising sector.
This partnership also seeks to establish effective collaboration in engineering, digital innovation, and to improve youth employability in emerging gaming-related professions, especially in design, programming, testing, and e-sports.
Under this agreement, both parties will join forces to develop new training programs that meet labor market needs. Cooperation will also focus on qualifying stakeholders and organizing in-company training courses for trainees, enabling them to better understand technological trends, economic models, and user expectations.
Thanks to this close collaboration, the Office of Vocational Training and Employment Promotion will leverage its expertise in training engineering for gaming professions to help deploy programs tailored to the industry’s characteristics. Its divisions will also benefit from specialized training identified by SILAFA (the relevant authority).
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication will work to mobilize all actors within the national gaming ecosystem to ensure the success of this partnership, notably through joint workshops and by connecting the Office with startups emerging in the field to develop appropriate training programs.
The Ministry and the Office will also collaborate to encourage startups in the gaming industry to host and mentor young trainees during or after their training, thereby enhancing their employability and facilitating their professional integration while ensuring acquired skills align with actual labor market demands.
To give strong momentum to this initiative, the two parties plan to launch three qualifying training programs covering the professions of e-Caster sport, sport Streamer, and video game laboratory technician. This partnership reflects the founders’ efforts to build an advanced and innovative national system, marking a significant step toward structuring Morocco’s gaming industry.
