The Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication (MJCC), the Caisse de Dépôt et de Gestion (CDG), and CDG Invest have signed a strategic partnership agreement for the implementation of the “Gamification Lab” program. This initiative serves as a lever for innovation and the valorization of Moroccan talent in the gaming industry sector, aiming to stimulate youth creativity, encourage entrepreneurship, and strengthen Morocco’s position in this rapidly expanding field.
The program aims to create a national platform dedicated to the promotion and procurement of gamification solutions developed by Moroccan studios for public and private stakeholders. This is intended to encourage the emergence of a national gaming industry, support innovation and the production of Moroccan digital content, foster the creation of qualified and sustainable jobs, and strengthen the ecosystem of Moroccan startups specialized in the gaming industry.
It also seeks to promote the use of gamification as a tool serving the collective interest in essential sectors such as education, health, culture, employment, and tourism, thereby contributing to the development of an inclusive and creative digital economy.
The implementation of the program will be structured around identifying the gamification needs of public and private stakeholders, signing specific agreements with beneficiaries, and launching Calls for Expressions of Interest to select and support Moroccan development studios.

This new addendum aims to establish a sub-program dedicated to supporting the gaming industry. It serves as a mechanism to assist Moroccan small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and startups operating in the field of video game development.
The sub-program will allocate an annual budget of up to 50 million dirhams for the period 2026–2028, through the Innovation Support Fund, to finance industrial prototyping and pilot manufacturing phases of innovative projects in this promising sector.

Through the parallel work of the Communication departement in developing the Gaming industry and the film industry, the Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication affirmed the importance of strengthening cooperation and networking between professionals in Cinema and Gaming, including directors, producers, developers, technicians, and creators, with the aim of building an integrated ecosystem for creativity and collaboration.
This intersection between the two industries opens new horizons for joint production, such as developing content that combines cinematic storytelling with digital interaction, adapting video games into cinematic works, or integrating immersive technologies into visual productions.
Morocco continues to assert its presence on the international video game scene with the selection of Bassma Benalla, a young creator from Laayoune and a graduate of the Video Game Creator program, to participate in the Game CréaLab Francophone 2025 program – a first for an African country, alongside talents from Switzerland, France, Belgium, and other countries worldwide. This program aims to support young creators in developing their projects and enhancing their artistic and technical coherence through personalized guidance, knowledge exchange, and direct interaction with leading experts in this emerging industry.
Huawei Technologies Morocco has officially announced the launch of the Huawei Developer Competition 2025, an initiative designed to support and encourage Moroccan youth to innovate in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI). This move is part of the implementation of the strategic agreement signed between Huawei Technologies Morocco and the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication – Departement of Communication formalized during the Gaming Startups Meeting Day in October 2024. This partnership aims to bolster technological innovation and foster digital talent across the Kingdom.
The agreement underscores Huawei’s commitment to supporting Moroccan participants; the competition will grant all registered Moroccan developers financial support vouchers valued between $100 and $200 USD. This incentive is intended to encourage broad participation and enable young developers to engage actively in the program, which runs from October to December 2025. Ambitious youth are invited to participate in the Huawei Developer Competition 2025 for a chance to win significant cash prizes ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 USD.
