As part of the efforts to strengthen the competitiveness and resilience of Moroccan startups in the gaming industry, access to financing represents a key challenge in enabling studios to develop their projects, accelerate their growth and fulfil their innovation potential.
It is around this challenge that the “MGI Talks Thursdays” launched their first session, dedicated to the Innovation Support Fund (FSI) and its support sub-program for the gaming industry.
Organized by the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, in partnership with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, this first webinar brought together around fifty Moroccan startups from the gaming industry around a concrete objective: gaining a better understanding of the financing opportunities available and the conditions required to benefit from them.
The session presented the support sub-program for the gaming industry, its scope, objectives and financial allocation, as well as the main eligibility criteria. Beyond presenting the scheme, the webinar also aimed to support studios in their application process. The application procedures and the timeline of the call for projects were therefore discussed, enabling participants to better understand the various steps involved in preparing their applications. Through this first webinar, the “MGI Talks Thursdays” inaugurate a series of meetings designed to connect stakeholders across Morocco’s gaming industry ecosystem with the expertise, support mechanisms and opportunities that can contribute to their development.
The Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication – Department of Communication extends its sincere congratulations to Zakarya Chioua and Hidaya Saf, selected to participate in Game CreaLab 2026, a video game concept development residency that promotes innovation, knowledge sharing, and collaboration among talents from different countries.
Representing Morocco in this new edition, they will showcase the dynamism, creativity, and potential of Moroccan talents within the gaming industry.
We wish them an enriching experience, great success, and every achievement throughout this exciting journey. We are confident that this participation will contribute to their professional development while further promoting Morocco’s gaming industry ecosystem on the international stage.
Just a few years ago, seeing video games created by Moroccan studios emerge on the scene was largely a matter of ambition. Today, that ambition is taking shape. Morocco Gaming Expo showcases this evolution by highlighting a new generation of Moroccan video game creations, including Dina l’Mdina, an original IP bringing together gaming, culture, and heritage.
Developed by Kiddo Education Studio, a Moroccan studio founded by Kawtar Jalili, Dina l’Mdina offers an interactive experience at the heart of the medina of Fès. The project invites visitors to rediscover the city through an adventure inspired by its heritage, stories, and cultural identity, transforming the discovery of a historic site into an immersive and participatory experience.
Through this creation, Kiddo Education Studio is exploring a new way of telling Moroccan heritage stories. Dina l’Mdina demonstrates the ability of local creators to draw on the Kingdom’s rich cultural heritage to develop original IPs and explore new forms of interactive storytelling.
Following its presentation at Morocco Gaming Expo 2026, Dina l’Mdina is now set to take another step forward by participating in Gamescom 2026. This international presence will give the project an opportunity to introduce an original Moroccan creation to a wider audience and highlight the diversity of projects emerging from Morocco’s gaming industry ecosystem. With Dina l’Mdina, Kiddo Education Studio is part of a growing movement led by a new generation of Moroccan creators: developing original IPs, telling stories rooted in national culture, and turning heritage into a source of inspiration for experiences capable of reaching the international stage.
Morocco’s gaming industry continues to evolve, driven by new technologies, emerging talent and new opportunities. Technologies are changing, business models are transforming, and studios and developers must constantly keep up with new trends, understand emerging challenges and seize new opportunities.
It is within this dynamic context that the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication – Communication Department is launching “MGI Talks Thursdays”, a new monthly gathering dedicated to dialogue and knowledge-sharing around the gaming industry.
The MGI Talks bring together studios, developers, young talents, experts and various ecosystem stakeholders to discuss concrete topics shaping the future of the sector.
Throughout the different sessions, discussions will cover a wide range of topics, including game engines, generative artificial intelligence, cloud gaming, virtual and augmented reality, intellectual property, contracting, taxation, as well as funding and support mechanisms.
Each session will provide an opportunity to explore a specific topic, discover new perspectives and gain a better understanding of the opportunities and challenges linked to the development of Morocco’s gaming industry.
With this new gathering, MGI Talks is establishing itself as a regular space for discussion for those who create, develop and build the future of the gaming industry.
